How to bring it to your college
campus...
For best results in bringing the performance to your campus, decide what type of event you want and secure a sponsor, venue, contact Colin Mutchler at colin[at]activefreemedia.com to secure a date.
1. Choose Event Type
(A) Full
Conference: A full hour long performance/lecture that, along with
other speakers and panels (students and professors), framed as a one day
Free Culture conference
or convening.
(B) Performance Only: Stand along performance/lecture, at
campus audorium or performance venue, which will total about an hour, plus
question
and answer.
(C) Short Performance: A 20 minute version of the performance,
which can be done during a class and with smaller audiences and meetings.
2. Choose University Sponsor, Venue, and Date
University Sponsors: For best results, reach out to student prgrammers,
related student clubs, and professors. Possible allies include the following
groups and departments : Law, Public Policy, Computer Science, Media Studies,
Cultural Anthropology, Pop Culture, Art, Film, Music, Internet
Venues: If available, auditoriums with a full sound system and projection screens
are preferable (up to 500 people). Depending on expected turnout, a smaller
auditorium, local music venue with full sound system works as well.
Date: The 2005 tour will take place during March & April (Eastern), May
(South and Midwest), and June (West).
